China's success in controlling COVID-19 means the economy is in a steady revival mode. The following facts and figures indicate how the country is forging ahead in resuming work and production:

-- The 19th China International Equipment Manufacturing Exposition kicked off on Tuesday in Shenyang, capital of northeast China's Liaoning Province.

This year's expo features both online and offline events. Offline events last five days, and the online expo will be held from Sept. 1 to Sept. 30.

Over 500 enterprises from both home and abroad attended the expo, which has the theme of upgrading for win-win cooperation.

The offline event has a total exhibition area of 60,000 square meters and 2,016 booths. According to official statistics, over 36,000 people visited the offline exhibition on the opening day.

The online event is attended by about 1,500 enterprises from China, Germany, Japan and other countries.

-- A China-Europe freight train for cross-border e-commerce B2B exports departed from southwest China's Chongqing Municipality on Tuesday morning, marking the first of its kind in the country.

The train, fully loaded with 43 containers of cross-border e-commerce products, including clothing, household appliances, and daily necessities, is bound for Germany, Poland, and other European countries.

Starting from Tuesday, 12 directly subordinated institutions of China's General Administration of Customs, including the Chongqing Customs, have been added to a pilot list for conducting cross-border e-commerce B2B export supervision.

Cross-border e-commerce B2B exporters will be given priority for inspections and streamlined declaration procedures, with more efficient clearance at lower costs.

The launch of the cargo freight service blazes a new trail for foreign trade companies and makes it easier and more convenient for them to enter the global market, according to the Chongqing port and logistics office.

-- Haikou Meilan International Airport in Haikou, capital of south China's Hainan Province, will add and resume more than 1,500 flights in September to meet the demand of the coming travel rush.

A total of 16 airlines, including Air China, Hainan Airlines and China Southern Airlines, plan to add and resume over 1,500 flights in Haikou, as this month sees the peak flow of students returning to colleges while next month will see a further spike for the National Day and Mid-Autumn Festival holidays.
